Hear what our parents, students, and staff have to say about their experience at Bodhana & Learning Tree Montessori.
"We are associated with Bodhana since 2022 and it has been really wonderful experience and great journey for my kid. Am proud to be a Montessori parent and especially with Bodhana, (effortless, sensorial way of learning and kids will enjoy going school & learning with no boundaries). Effortless I meant 'No stressful' but gaining lots of knowledge practically. Nice to see our kid keeps murmuring those circle time songs. Initially it may look to be slow in Montessori learning but after a while the way kids learning are amazing be it mathematical, science, language or whatever. Not only for kids, as parents we are presented with periodical parenting workshops, nurturing sessions with field experts are helping further a lot, being responsible parents. Overall, I feel Bodhana Montessori is giving my kid a great learning and strong foundation for their future."

"We have been with Bodhana since 2016 and it is a wonderful journey. Bodhana is a second home for our children. My elder one was in Bodhana till his 4th grade and my younger one is currently in Bodhana Primary. Teachers are friendly and soft-spoken. Children learn happily without any pressure. When discipline is embraced in whatever we do, it is bound to reflect on everything around us. I like how children learn discipline and life skills throughout their primary and elementary journey. Discipline and life skills became inseparable parts of their childhood. Children are independent and become good decision-makers. It is one of the pure Montessori schools in Velachery which follows all the Montessori practices. The concepts are well advanced in Bodhana when compared to traditional schools. Not only for children, they guide parents on gentle parenting. Conducts parenting workshops to understand the child better. Overall Bodhana provides holistic development. We are happy parents of Bodhana."

"Bodhana was my son's first school and he studied there from 2.5 years till 7.5 years. The teaching methodology here is excellent as the children are coached to think independently and are usually bolder and inquisitive and are encouraged to ask a lot of questions. I being a junior martial arts trainer can easily identify the difference between children from the Montessori environment and a traditional school. The classroom materials at Bodhana is extremely well-equipped with dozens of a wide range of age-appropriate, hands-on learning materials that allow children to explore and discover concepts on their own. The classroom environment is often mixed-age, allowing for peer learning and mentoring rather than the traditional chalkboard, whiteboard, pencil, notebook and grouping children of the same age together. All the teachers are extremely dedicated towards child-development, and pay individual attention to each child and are well aware of each kid's temperament, individual interests and likes and dislikes. The principal, Mrs. Uma is very involved with each child individually and is very accessible; parents can approach her anytime with an appointment. I changed my child's school this year as we are about to move to a different and farther location. My son Dhruvan, is very lucky to have had his roots at Bodhana. I would blindly recommend Bodhana to all parents who have toddlers."

"I am beyond impressed with Bodhana & Learning Tree Montessori. This school has made an incredible impact on my son's development, and I couldn't be happier with our decision to enroll him here. The Montessori approach has been transformative for my son. He has learned not only to think independently but also to execute tasks with confidence. The emphasis on treating each child as an individual has allowed him to flourish, asking questions and seeking understanding whenever needed. What sets Bodhana apart is their dedication to life skills beyond academics. My son is gaining essential skills like responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are proving invaluable in his growth. I must commend the staffs who create a nurturing environment for our children to thrive. Additionally, the school's informative sessions and workshops for parents have been a revelation. These opportunities have provided me with a deeper understanding of my child's needs and have empowered me to support his growth effectively."

"Below is the STORY of a 6 year Bodhana student: My son moved to UK along with us after 3 years (2016-18) in Bodhana. This is clearly reflected in my son enjoying Bodhana every moment of his life for 3 yrs. I said moment (not day) because his education was part of his life, continued day-in, day-out even after he went home & NOT limited to his time at Bodhana in a DAY. The useful principles, right seeds, fundamentals, his learnings from Bodhana was repeated, practised by him at home & at other places (we never forced him to practise). He recollected & repeated activities he learnt at school. Right seeds sown into his young fertile mind resulted in the strong foundation which we see in him now. We saw the progress on a regular basis for the past 3 years. Bodhana (Excellent Principal, Teachers & the Staff) helped him to evolve by educating him in the right way. He & we call it Bodhana, not school because it was his 2nd family where he enjoyed & learnt by observing his friends, teachers. Here in UK, I keep re-iterating to my Indian colleagues that "UK education not seen in India" is no more true. It is there in our own Chennai. They all saw this truth in my son when he does his own work, eats on his own, cleans up any spills/mess he makes, tidies up, organizes, arranges properly, when he says Sorry & Thank You, when his lifeskills come into action etc. Time & space do not permit me to write more, though i love to. In short, watching my son progress steadily, some times explosively is a big exciting life changing experience to me & my wife. Amazing Journey. No regrets. I will put him back in Bodhana after 2 years in 2020 end when we are back to Chennai from UK."

"When we looked for a school for our child, our main aims were to ensure that my son enjoys his childhood as much as we did and no projects would be given to children (parent!). With very little knowledge on Montessori we approached Bodhana. We enquired about these two things alone and placed him in this school. He joined in Jan 2013 which is 4 months after the school was established. Ours is a long journey and hence longer the read. The initial months were quite good that my child was always eager to go to school (couple of times it was difficult to make him understand that it was a holiday). As my child smoothly settled down, we wanted to know what he was learning at school. Since thereโs no homework, no books or tests we were not really comfortable. There were many questions like โ how do we evaluate my childโs learning, why there are no books, how can we do an extended teaching at home? We never hesitated to get in touch with the team and bombarded them with lot of questions. Sometimes we made a list of questions and asked them. We made sure to attend all the orientation programs. A lot of sessions between parents and Aunties, external speakers, Montessori trainers were called. I would say we couldnโt agree with all of what was said. We were skeptical on few aspects. But we had trust in what they do. What looked more promising for us was, the concept of Montessori was never diluted to satisfy parents. Rather they ensured to substantiate what they do is the right thing for the child. The conviction with which they run the school is more appealing. Speaking of school for children, safety has a higher priority. Since we are with them for the past 6 years, we have seen 3 premises as of date and the team never ever compromised on the safety aspects. This was not just done to satisfy the parents but our view the team has taken this very personally too. Since many of the Aunties are mothers themselves, they could empathise with all the safety aspects. Like many other parents, our plan was to shift our son around the age of 5 as we had the idea place him in the mainstream learning offered by most of the schools but we changed our mind. We had instances where the team helped us solve the issues rather than complaining about it on the parent or the child. Also the way our child is growing up here is satisfying. Let me quote a few things here โ my child has developed a great behavior of inclusiveness with other children, an attribute hard to find in regular school children. Since there is no comparison, my child feels confident of what he does/learns. Others performance has no negative impact on the child rather he has learnt to appreciate of what others capabilities are. Finally the way in which he learns things are really amazing. This system really leverage the childโs curiosity and make them learn more and more. This learning is self-driven and a forced one. Though there are all good things in this school, too much good may not work well as we are not living in an idealistic world. Yes, there are some challenges for a Montessori child but thatโs only a transitionary phase for a child. The school helps the child to transition smoothly to their new environment. Though we have not experienced that yet, we have seen our friends happy about the transition. In our view, if a child is taught to be rational, knowledge is bound to follow. In that way this school continues to give preference to each & every child whatever their needs be. Their non-commercial approach to schooling is very convincing and in that way this school is definitely a rare find."
